trepidus, a, um [st2]1 [-] agité, qui se démène. [st2]2 [-] affolé, affolant.    - in re trepida (in trepidis rebus) : dans une situation critique.    - precatus deos immortales Cincinnatus ne senectus sua in tam trepidis rebus damno rei publicae esset, dictator a consule dicitur, Liv. 4, 13 : après avoir prié les dieux immortels que son grand âge ne portât pas préjudice à l'Etat dans une situation aussi critique, Cincinnatus fut nommé dictateur par le consul.    - senatus, ut in trepidis rebus, dictatorem dici Mam. Aemilium jussit, Liv. 4, 17 : le sénat, comme il convient dans une situation critique, ordonna de nommer dictateur Mam. Aemilius.
